Legal
Limitations and disclaimers
A plain statement of what LandShield does not do, so no one relies on it for something it cannot support.
Not a title or ownership service
Recording a property, a parcel or an observation in LandShield does not establish ownership, interest or title. Ownership is determined by the competent authority and the applicable law, not by a record in this platform.
Not a cadastral or legal boundary
Coordinates, extents, drawn features and maps produced in LandShield are working records. They are not cadastral survey, not legally demarcated boundaries and not a substitute for a licensed survey.
Not planning approval or compliance
Nothing recorded here grants planning permission, declares a development lawful or certifies regulatory compliance. Statutory decisions remain with the responsible authority.
Not professional advice
LandShield is a workspace, not a professional adviser. It does not issue surveys, valuations, planning opinions, title opinions or legal advice. Professional judgement and liability remain with the qualified practitioner and their organisation.
Data quality and coverage
Zoning, flood, elevation, imagery and other third-party datasets are shown only where a source has been licensed and recorded. Where a dataset is unavailable, LandShield says so rather than estimating. Aerial imagery may be view-only and excluded from exports.
Assistance and automation
Assisted features carry out recorded, authorised actions with human confirmation. LandShield does not classify land use automatically from imagery, does not monitor by satellite and does not make decisions on your behalf.
Availability and scope
The platform is released in stages on a reasonable-efforts basis. Capabilities described as in development are not available today and are not simulated anywhere in the product.
These limitations sit alongside the terms of service and the privacy notice.
